MACAO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tumor, circulatory, respiratory diseases remained the three major causes of death in Macao, as 80 percent of the total deaths recorded here in July this year were caused by the three diseases, according to the figures released Wednesday by Macao's health authority.
The figures from the Health Department (SS) of the Special Administration Region (SAR) showed that 123 deaths were recorded in July, of which 52, 28 and 19 were caused by tumor, circulatory and respiratory diseases respectively.
The SS also said that 52 percent of the deaths in the age group of 15 to 64 were caused by tumor disease.
Meanwhile, the total deaths of 123 in July, 90 of which were aged 65 or above, were higher than the 117 of last year and the average number of the same periods of the past five year, according to the SS.
